7 Holistic Changes That Improve Pain Relief

My belief is that holistic pain relief can be achieved by small steps that all add up to big benefits. It is like solving a multi-dimensional puzzle with many layers and hidden secrets. But, today I want to share some of the little tricks I've learned over the years. Let's solve that puzzle together!

  1. More sleep: It can be difficult to get enough sleep when you have chronic pain. But, a good night's sleep is essential for a great day. Sleep is when your body is designed to heal. This is why it is so important to improve pain relief. What can you do if you are still experiencing pain? Reduce your caffeine intake throughout the day, especially in the afternoon and evening. You can gradually reduce your caffeine intake by switching from regular to decaf green tea to water. The second key thing is to turn off electronic devices between 15-30 minutes before you go to bed. Research shows that the light from these devices can be particularly stimulating to your brain, just when your brain needs to slow down. A third option is to dim the lights in your home starting at dinnertime. This will create a routine that helps your body naturally go to sleep.
  2. How to reduce "comfort food": Many comfort foods promote inflammation and pain. Trans fats (partially hydrocarbonated oils), sugar and other sweeteners, wheat flour, gluten, and dairy (for some people) are all examples. If you feel energetic and well, take the time to learn about new comfort foods. You can swap fresh fruits for packaged cookies. Instead of buying chips, choose natural salty foods such as olives and other vegetables. You can make more healthy choices by taking small steps to adjust your tastebuds.
  3. Learn to say no Having a busy schedule can lead to chronic pain. Don't get me wrong. I don't think you should be selfish. Be careful about your energy and boundaries. Helping the same person (club, organization, team, etc.) is not a good idea. If you find that CBD For Pain Relief UK you are spending too much time helping the same person (organization, club, team), it may be a draining on your energy and causing you pain. You might want to pause this practice and focus on your health.  A colleague recently reminded me that "No" is not a complete sentence. It is also possible to say "Not now" in place of "No". Take care of yourself is the top priority , if you want others to benefit in the future.
  4. Reducing high-processed foods: these processed foods can be found in our grocery stores and on restaurant menus. Did you know that many restaurants have a specific design for their menus to include fat, sugar and salt throughout the entire meal? This makes the food irresistible, especially after just one bite. If you find yourself craving an appetizer, entree or dessert that is just too good to resist... you might be wondering what your body is consuming.
  5. You may be able to ask for help more often. But have you ever created a "healing group?" Through my own experience with chronic pain, I learned that different types of healing work can help me in different ways. They are all equally important. A massage therapist who treats soft tissue pain is different than a counselor who deals with emotional issues of chronic pain. Sometimes we don't even need professionals. We can just ask our family and friends for some extra help. This has meant that I have "let" others do the dishes after family meals. I used to be anxious that they wouldn't be done right, but now I cherish the time and enjoy some playtime with my younger children.
  6. Understanding when to use Ice Packs:Today's tip--if you are experiencing pain and don’t know why, ice is usually better than heat to relieve it. The heat can cause inflammation to increase in an area. This may not be what your body needs, even if it feels great. Trust your body's reactions. You may find that ice causes muscle spasms to worsen. In this case, heat might be a better option.
  7. Improving hydration: It's very hot right now for most people. Make sure you get enough water to counter all the heat . Failure to properly hydrate can lead to headaches, muscle aches and brain fog, as well as fatigue and poor digestion. It's time to get a bottle of water in your bag and start drinking it regularly. You'll be a blessing to your body!
